BEATRICE POTHIN GALLARD

Born in June 1952 in Algiers, interested in painting from the age of 12, then passionate about drawing, Beatrice Pothin Gallard took evening classes at the Beaux-arts in Lyon. Then in 1970 entered the Fine Arts of Marseille Luminy and after two years of work, she discovered Sculpture in the studio of Mr François Bouché. She continued her studies there for 6 years. She completed her studies in 1977.

 

After three years in public education as a drawing teacher, B Pothin Gallard devotes herself to personal work where the living model occupies a predominant place: Admirer of the great Flemish painters of the Renaissance, she first devoted herself to portraiture. sculpted from a live model. Then the complexity and the expression of the body as a whole fascinates the artist. They are nudes and then dressed characters; clothing allowing the expression of movement (dance, flamenco), everyday life, as well as the use of color. His first exhibitions allow him to share and perfect his passion.

She won various prizes including:

Passion which also led her, in 1994, to create an association within which she gives drawing and sculpture lessons. In 2002, she moved to Ollioules (city of Arts and Crafts) in a more spacious personal studio open to the public, where she also gives lessons and enjoys the space necessary for the progress of her personal work.
